Steffi W. Neukirchen
Steffi W. Neukirchen is a designer, type collector, and researcher based in Berlin. Reading and writing have long been central to her thinking and practice, with typography serving as the connecting tool between the two. During her three years in Ho Chi Minh City, she lectured at RMIT Vietnam and co-initiated a funded research project, focusing on the city’s hand-painted signage. Her part of the project, titled Signs of Saigon, explores these signs as expressions of Vietnam’s history, visual culture, and identity — while also connecting with the people behind them through the rhythm, craft, and character of the painters’ work.
